Musyoka Ochieng Kato
Master of blacksmithing, now teaching apprentices
- 🇰🇪 Likoni, Mombasa, Kenya
- The Orchid Trades Guild
- Since 1987
- English
I've worked in blacksmithing since 1987. I learned from my father and passed what I could on to 1,210 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I never rush a conversation.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Musyoka
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
