For 37 years I have been the history teacher at Istanbul Primary School. I teach Grade 8 and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I've run the chess club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

What gifts mean to Ms. Aksoy: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
