I taught home economics at Buenos Aires Middle School in Buenos Aires from 1978 to 1992. Most days I taught Grade 11, and I played music while people worked.
I ran the running club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I volunteer at the food bank on Saturdays.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Mr. Contreras
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Mr. Contreras: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.
