For 29 years I was the social studies teacher at Silverlake Secondary School. I taught first-year students and a few brave older students who wanted extra help.
I ran the homework club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I fix old bicycles.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Mr. Alcantara
Some of my favorite memories are from the school trip to the farm, where nothing went to plan and everything turned out fine.

What gifts mean to Mr. Alcantara: A gift would go toward books and supplies for the students I still tutor.
