Miss Yılmaz
Early years and environmental science teacher, Istanbul
- 🇹🇷 Istanbul, Istanbul, Türkiye
- Istanbul Middle School
- Since 1983
- English, Turkish
I came to teaching late, after working as a postal worker, and 43 years later I still can't imagine doing anything else.
I've run the gardening club after school and some of my proudest moments happened there. I'm always reading two books at once.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Miss Yılmaz
The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.

What gifts mean to Miss Yılmaz: Honestly the messages mean more, but a gift would help me buy supplies for my new classroom.
