Mekonnen Bereket Kahsay
Master of weaving, now teaching apprentices
- 🇪🇹 Adama, Oromia, Ethiopia
- Crescent Workshop
- 1989 to 2015
- English, Amharic
I'm a weaving specialist. If you live around Adama, there's a good chance I've worked in a building near you.
I can still tell good work from rushed work from across the street. I paint watercolors of whatever is outside the window.
More about Mekonnen
If I fixed something for you, I hope it's still holding.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Mekonnen: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.

You fixed our roof in 1992 and charged half what others asked. Greetings from São Paulo.

A small gift is a big thank-you.
