Yodit Selamawit Melaku
Master of tiling, now teaching apprentices
- 🇪🇹 Addis Ababa, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Willow Creek Repairs
- 1992 to 2018
- English, Spanish
My trade is tiling. I opened my own shop in 1992 in Addis Ababa and I'm still there most mornings.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 11 years later for another job.
More about Yodit
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Yodit: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
