I'm a sculpture artist based in Addis Ababa. I've been making things since 1997 and I still get excited when a new batch of materials arrives.
I'm usually the first one in and the last to leave. My studio is always a bit of a mess.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.

What gifts mean to Mekdes: I'd put a gift toward a kiln repair. It's been a long time coming.
