I coached cycling at Saint-Étienne Orchid Athletic Club from 1982 to 1996. Most of my players were between 12 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
