I coached boxing at Karachi Hillcrest Swimming Club from 2015 to 2024. Most of my players were between 10 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
More about Maryam
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Maryam: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.

you coached me in 2023. I still hear your voice on the sideline. Greetings from San Jose.
