I've coached chess at St. Joseph's Swimming Club since 2002. Most of my players were between 8 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I play music while people worked.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
