I've worked in shoemaking from 1995 to 2008. I learned from my uncle and passed what I could on to 590 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I'm usually the first one in and the last to leave.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.
