I spent 15 years as a lecturer in sociology at Crescent Institute of Technology in Grenoble. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk. It sounds small, but students remember small things.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.

Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.
