Julia A. Powers
Coached swimming for eight years in Oakland
- 🇺🇸 Oakland, California, United States
- Oakland Boxing Gym
- 2009 to 2017
- English
I coached swimming at Oakland Boxing Gym from 2009 to 2017. Most of my players were between 9 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
