Javier F. Duarte
Master of welding, now teaching apprentices
- 🇺🇸 Anaheim, California, United States
- The Oakwood Workshop
- Since 1979
- English
I've worked in welding since 1979. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 1,080 apprentices.
Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Javier
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
What gifts mean to Javier: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
