Jabu N. Fortuin
Master of baking, now teaching apprentices
- 🇿🇦 Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa
- Old Rosewood Repairs
- Since 1991
- English
I've worked in baking since 1991. I learned from my grandfather and passed what I could on to 1,160 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 13 years later for another job.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Jabu
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Jabu: A gift would go toward tools for apprentices who can't afford their own.
