Helping people break into first-generation students
- 🇨🇦 Hamilton, Ontario, Canada
- St. Anne's Mentoring Circle
- Since 2006
- English
I started mentoring after a colleague did the same for me. Since then I've worked with 1,060 people through St. Anne's Mentoring Circle.
I don't give advice so much as ask questions until the answer shows up. I fix old bicycles.
More about Isla
Some of my mentees now mentor others. That's how it's meant to work.
Areas of mentoring
What gifts mean to Isla: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
