Ioana Ioana Barbu
Youth athletics coach and mentor
- 🇷🇴 Cluj-Napoca, Cluj, Romania
- St. Mary's Community Club
- 2011 to 2023
- English, Romanian
I coached athletics at St. Mary's Community Club from 2011 to 2023. Most of my players were between 12 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. My door was open at lunch.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
What gifts mean to Ioana: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.

You coached me in 2019. I still hear your voice on the sideline. Greetings from Córdoba.

I still think about the day we all got the giggles in assembly. Best summer of my life. Greetings from Frankfurt.

A small gift is a big thank-you.
