I coached cycling at Sheffield Football Club from 1987 to 2005. Most of my players were between 11 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I garden badly but happily.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Gerald
If you played for me, you probably remember the time the class pet escaped.
What gifts mean to Gerald: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
