Gabriela M. Maldonado

Pottery, done properly

  • 🇲🇽 Ciudad de México, Ciudad de México, Mexico
  • 1987 to 1999
  • English, Spanish
I've worked in pottery from 1987 to 1999. I learned from my mother and passed what I could on to 500 apprentices. Apprentices come in nervous and leave proud. That's my favorite part. I take the work seriously, though not myself.

More about Gabriela

Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.

What gifts mean to Gabriela: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
