Fleur Van der Wal

Helping people break into first-generation students

  • 🇳🇱 Utrecht, Utrecht, Netherlands
  • Utrecht Foundation
  • Since 2018
  • Dutch
For eight years I've mentored people in first-generation students and engineering. Mostly it's coffee, honest feedback and a lot of listening. Most of my mentees are early in their careers. A few are in their fifties and starting over, and they're some of my favorites.

If I mentored you, I hope you're still pushing yourself.

What gifts mean to Fleur: I'd put gifts toward travel for in-person sessions with students.
