I've coached softball at Tehuacán Community Club since 2009. Most of my players were between 8 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
What gifts mean to Fernanda: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
