I've worked in bicycle repair from 1987 to 2001. I learned from my grandmother and passed what I could on to 590 apprentices.
The best compliment I ever got was a customer who called me back 13 years later for another job.
More about Emma
Some of my old apprentices now run their own shops. I couldn't be prouder.
Crafts and trades
What gifts mean to Emma: I'd put gifts toward a new set of tools for the next apprentice.
