I've coached cricket at Philadelphia Boxing Gym since 1978. Most of my players were between 9 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always have a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Elena
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Elena: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
