My subject is civil engineering, and for 33 years I get to share it with undergraduates at Brookfield Polytechnic.
I'm happiest when a student comes to office hours with a question that makes me rethink something I've said for years. I garden badly but happily.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
More about Dr. Mendis
Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.
