For 15 years I ran the cross country program at Colombo Good Shepherd Youth Club in Colombo. We trained 4 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
