Coach Mwende
Youth rugby coach and mentor
- 🇺🇬 Gulu, Northern Region, Uganda
- Gulu Community Club
- 2000 to 2020
- English, Swahili
I coached rugby at Gulu Community Club from 2000 to 2020. Most of my players were between 12 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
More about Coach Mwende
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Coach Mwende: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
