I coached martial arts at Jacaranda Football Club from 2006 to 2021. Most of my players were between 12 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I never turned anyone away.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
