I coached cricket at Bornova Athletic Club from 2004 to 2012. Most of my players were between 10 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I'm still learning every day.
