I coached hockey at Üsküdar Community Club from 1982 to 2004. Most of my players were between 12 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I bake for the whole street at New Year.
I'm still learning every day.
More about Elif
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Elif: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
