I coached swimming at Ciudad de México Willow Creek Athletic Club from 2001 to 2013. Most of my players were between 11 and 16, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. My door was open at lunch.
What gifts mean to Citlali: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
