For 29 years I've run the martial arts program at Atlas Sports Club in Bakersfield. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
It has been a good run and I'm grateful for all of it.
