I've spent 32 years as a lecturer in modern history at St. Anne's University in Rio de Janeiro. I loved the lecture hall and loved office hours even more.
Former students now work as a clerk and in a dozen other fields. It's the best part of this job.
More about Carlos
Some of my favorite days were field trips that went spectacularly wrong.
What gifts mean to Carlos: Gifts will go to a small travel fund for students presenting their first paper.
