I coached boxing at Paris Ashford Athletic Club from 1993 to 2006. Most of my players were between 8 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I wrote a short note to every student at the end of term.
I'm still learning every day.
