I coached volleyball at Cologne St. Anne's Football Club from 1989 to 2001. Most of my players were between 10 and 17, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I make terrible puns.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
More about Birgit
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
