Benjamin B. Elliott
Coached chess for 25 years in San Jose
- 🇺🇸 San Jose, California, United States
- 1983 to 2008
- English
For 25 years I ran the chess program at San Jose Athletic Club in San Jose. We trained 3 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it.

I still keep the team photo from our best season on the wall.

What gifts mean to Benjamin: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
