Barasa Bakari Kessy

Religious studies and early years teacher, Mukono

  • 🇺🇬 Mukono, Central Region, Uganda
  • 1997 to 2013
  • English, Swahili
I taught religious studies at Ashford Grammar School in Mukono from 1997 to 2013. Most days I taught Year 10, and I stayed late on Thursdays for anyone who needed it. I coached the school's football team for a few seasons. We lost more than we won, and I'd do it all again.

More about Barasa

The students I remember best weren't always the top of the class. They were the ones who asked "why?" when nobody else did.
What gifts mean to Barasa: If you do send something, I'll put it toward a small scholarship for a student who needs it.

I'm a nurse now and I honestly think it started in your classroom. Greetings from Kinondoni.
