Awino Janet Bakari

Violin and accordion teacher

  • 🇰🇪 Machakos, Machakos, Kenya
  • Meadowbank Choir
  • 2000 to 2023
  • English, Swahili
I play violin and accordion. I started in 2000 with a secondhand instrument and a lot of stubbornness. I teach about 13 students a week. Some of them are better than me now, which is the whole point. I garden badly but happily.

More about Awino

I wrote my first song when I was 16. It was terrible and I still love it.
