I've coached hockey at Siliguri Jacaranda Swimming Club since 1998. Most of my players were between 8 and 14, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I keep a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
What gifts mean to Apurva: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
