I coached cricket at Victory Sports Club from 1987 to 2006. Most of my players were between 12 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I kept a jar of spare pencils on my desk.
I'm proud of everyone I got to work with.
More about Ashwin
If you played for me, you probably remember the snow day nobody expected.
What gifts mean to Ashwin: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
