Andrés M. Morales
Self-taught woodcarving artist
- 🇲🇽 Tuxtla Gutiérrez, Chiapas, Mexico
- Maple Ridge Art Collective
- Since 1986
- English, Spanish
I work mostly in woodcarving, sometimes sculpture. My first show was in 1986 at Maple Ridge Art Collective, and nobody came except my family and one confused dog.
I also teach a weekly class at Maple Ridge Art Collective, which keeps me honest.
Hearing from old faces is the best part of my week.

If you've bought a piece of mine, thank you. It's on someone's wall and that still amazes me.
