I coached cycling at Semarang Phoenix Sports Club from 1996 to 2013. Most of my players were between 9 and 18, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Winning was never the point, though I won't pretend I didn't enjoy it. I always had a bag of oranges in my drawer.
I never expected anything in return, but a kind word always makes my day.
What gifts mean to Ahmad: A gift would go toward kit and bus fares for kids who can't afford them.
