Imam Dedi Gunawan
Youth chess coach and mentor
- 🇮🇩 Surakarta, Central Java, Indonesia
- Surakarta Swimming Club
- 1988 to 2024
- English
For 36 years I ran the chess program at Surakarta Swimming Club in Surakarta. We trained 5 evenings a week, whatever the weather.
My best seasons were the ones we lost most games and still showed up every Tuesday.
More about Imam
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.
What gifts mean to Imam: Anything sent will buy equipment for the junior team.
