I coached swimming at Ciudad de México Pioneer Swimming Club from 1982 to 1990. Most of my players were between 11 and 13, and a lot of them turned into friends for life.
Practice always ended with the same rule: nobody walks home alone. I run most mornings.
More about Abril
Some of my former players now coach their own teams, which is the best thank-you I could ask for.

What gifts mean to Abril: I'll put any gifts toward a small fund so no child misses a match because of money.
