The flood hit the families of Orchard Lane on 28 August. My home was one of 81 damaged, and 9 families are still in temporary shelter at the community hall. The first few days we shared what little we had. Now the cleanup has started, but we've no money for materials and winter or the rainy season is coming. Schools in the area have been closed, and the clinic lost its cold storage for vaccines. We're a small community of working families who have never asked for help before. We have formed a volunteer committee, and I'm the treasurer, so I'll post receipts for everything we buy. We buy supplies locally and in bulk, so the money goes further. Receipts and photos will be posted in updates. Where the $1,450 goes: • Clean water and purification supplies: $230 • Bedding, blankets and mattresses: $330 • Tools and labor for repairs: $400 • Roofing sheets and timber: $490 You're what makes this possible, and I'll never forget it.

  • Is there anything that isn't money that would help Francisco?

    • Sharing the link is the biggest thing. And if you know anything about clean water and purification supplies, advice is welcome too. Appreciate you taking the time.

  • Praying for you, Francisco. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Read this on the bus and kept thinking about it all day. Greetings from Nairobi

    • I hope things turn around soon. Don't lose heart. A few weeks ago I was in a hole too and it changed faster than I expected. Take care

      • wishing you peace, Francisco. Great idea, hope you get there. My daughter saw me on my phone and now she wants to give her pocket money. Thinking of Zapopan

        • Stay strong, Francisco. Shared this with my family. After 6 years in social work I know how hard it's to ask for anything. God bless.
