The Lotus vacant lot needs a community garden - Rotimi's neighborhood project
Volunteers in Wudil are raising $200 for a community garden at the Lotus vacant lot.

For twelve years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 24 volunteers, including two retired carpenters, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for the Lotus vacant lot, but no funding.
We have received donated volunteer hours worth about $200, and the remaining cost is $200.
It will serve about 595 people, including elderly neighbors living alone. We'll hold a build day in July and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $200 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $85
• Permits and inspections: $55
• Safety equipment and signage: $60
Even a small gift gets used right away and I'll thank you myself.

Best of luck. Your post was clear and honest. After 13 years in customer support I know how hard it's to ask for anything.
