A community garden: a volunteer-led effort in Ibadan
A community-led a community garden at Maple Primary School that will serve 234 neighbors.

For ten years the neighborhood has asked for a community garden. This year a group of 8 volunteers, including a retired civil engineer, decided to stop waiting. The council has given permission for Maple Primary School, but no funding.
We have received donated a pump, and the remaining cost is $450.
It will serve about 234 people, including children, seniors and people with disabilities. We'll hold a build day in August and everyone is invited.
We're a small team, and every dollar will be spent in the open - I'll post receipts and progress photos.
Funds are spent only on materials, permits and safety equipment; all labor is volunteered.
Where the $450 goes:
• Tools hire and delivery: $30
• Permits and inspections: $50
• Materials: $370
