I coordinate donations at the Union Family Centre in Hamburg. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes kids' 3 to 5 and women's S-L. If you're in Hamburg, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Union Family Centre on Monday between 11am and 4pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Union Family Centre clothing bank, which is open to everyone. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

  • you're not alone. A secure home matters so much. Hope you're settled soon. My neighbor in Arlington donated after I showed her your page. Take care.

    • Thanks for sharing this, Laura. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. Put this on a community board in San Francisco this morning. Take care.

      • stay strong. Gave what I could, wish it was more. I have a 5 year old who wants to send good wishes too. Love from Nagpur
