I coordinate donations at the Lotus Community Church in Derry. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled.
We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes toddler through teen. If you're in Derry, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Lotus Community Church on Friday between 9am and 4pm.
If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate.
Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Lotus Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone.

thanks for sharing this, Lydia. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. My late mom used to say help given quietly counts double.
