I coordinate donations at the Acacia Community Church in Auckland. Every year around this time we hear from families who have nothing warm for their children, and this year demand has more than doubled. We're collecting clean, gently used or new coats, boots, hats, gloves and scarves in sizes 4-12. If you're in Auckland, we can arrange a pick-up or you can drop things at the Acacia Community Church on Sunday between 10am and 2pm. If you're elsewhere, you may offer to sponsor a coat through a local shop - message in the comments and we can coordinate. Items go to families directly and the rest to the the Acacia Community Church clothing bank, which is open to everyone. I'll keep this page updated with receipts as things happen.

    • good luck. I was in a similar spot a few years ago and it did get better. My mother had a similar thing happen so this one hit home. Love from New York.

      • Thinking of you. It takes guts to ask. Well done. We're a small family in Heliopolis but we're thinking of you.

          • Sending love. I've been in a tough spot myself and it does get easier. Blessings!
